CCTV Installations

CCTV Installers in Cambridgeshire

Decades ago the use of closed circuit television systems to monitor properties was only for the rich and famous. However, the introduction of cheap imports and the growing use of the internet has brought remote CCTV monitoring of premises to the many.
Recording activity at whether at a commercial premise or a home relies on a suitable camera, a recording device and means of communicating images remotely

CCTV Solutions in Cambridgeshire

There are three main types of cameras for CCTV solutions these are:
A3 Cube Wireless Camera

Wireless IP Cameras

Wireless IP Cameras are becoming very popular and are particularly suited when only one maybe two cameras are required. They have limitations in that domestic WiFi signals can be fickle working perfectly one day and not another and they vie for bandwith with over devices on the network. Continuous images can be stored for a couple of days on a 128GB memory card or several weeks of images when the movement only setting is selected. It is not cost effective to install more that 2 or 3 WiFi cameras as it is then cheaper to install a wired system

HIK IP Camera

IP Cameras

IP Cameras captures video images digitally and compress the image to transmit over a network to the NVR (network video recorder). The recorder is programmed with IP addresses to receive these video streams and record them). The method of communication back to the NVR can be direct via cables or through the network on which the NVR is located. IP cameras can work independent of an NVR and record onto memory cards or over the internet to remote recording facilities

Anaolgue CCTV Camera

Analogue Cameras

Analogue Cameras have been the standard system for the past decade or so, due to the price. It records images line by line and uses a digital video recorder (DVR) system to store files and upload them to a network. The camera is connected to a DVR via a coax cable. Once much cheaper than its rival the price differential has now reduced, and these systems are generally used commercially or where the infrastructure is already in place or where specialised cameras are required

Methods of CCTV Recording in Cambridgeshire

UNV Recorder
The purpose of having CCTV for most is to have the ability to record and detect suspicious activity. The main means of doing this are:

Remote Recording

The cameras are accessed over the internet by specialised companies who store the images offsite. The costs can be exorbitant if you require constant recording and can take up a large amount of data. The facility offered by Secure Home Electrics only records when motion or other activity is detected and is generally only suggested when there are a small number of cameras. This facility requires a monthly subscription.

Video Recorders

For many years adapted video tape machines were used. However these are now long gone and desktop boxes are now taken their place. On analogue systems they are referred to as Digital Video recorders (DVRs) whereas Network Video recorders (NVRs) record IP cameras. In essence the functionality of both systems are the same except that DVRs have different inputs both record digitally onto hard drives. The DVRs installed by Secure Home Electrics also have the ability record a limited number of IP cameras as well as Analogue.

Installed Memory

SD Cards are used in many cameras to act as a backup for remote or onsite monitoring. However they can also be used to record activity and for them to be accessed by APP.

Please note: Secure Home Electrics only install recorders with surveillance quality hard drives which are designed to be constantly overwritten rather than standard hard drive which hold data more permanently.

Methods of Viewing your CCTV

SMART PHONE APP FROM SECURE HOME ELECRTICS LTD
One of the most simple ways to monitor activity on a CCTV system is to have a monitor or TV directly connected to the recorder. A mouse is then used to navigate the menus to view particular cameras and recordings.
The quality of the images are of high definition.

All recorders installed by Secure Home Electrics are capable of being connected to a computer network and internet.
This allows the user to access the recorder to view live and recorded images through a variety of devices such as desktop PCs Tablets and Smartphones. When connected through Apps the recorder can notify you when motion is detected.
